Worldpremière piano concerto Raskatov 11 May in The Hague

posted on May 2nd 2013

Alexander Raskatov became a world known composer by his last opera ‘ A Dog’s Heart’. I will perform his brand new piano concerto ‘Night Butterflies’ with the Residentie Orkest Den Haag conducted by Reinbert de Leeuw. This new work consists of twelve jewellery like short movements. Raskatov once visited a greenhouse in France, by chance he entered the garden of butterflies. These colourful and mysterious creatures became the inspirition for the piece.

Great reviews, for example by Valentina Tóth in NRC, 13 May 2013:
‘Soliste Tomoko Mukaiyama had de zaal volledig in haar greep. Mukaiyama was de ster van de avond. Ze had precies de goeie klank.’
